This is a personal project I decided to make from start to release to get more experience in UEFN's existing devices and game design. I also wanted to learn more about the algorithm and what affects your standing in the different categories on the Fortnite Islands Discovery page.
The game design is based on an old capture-the-flag and team deathmatch map from games like Garry's mod, but then with extra additions and design choices. This map design allows for more tactical decisions from the players, like building underneath the map, with the risk of other players breaking your support. And that is just one of the other tactics.
As such, I set up all the placements on the map and devices by myself. I am also now planning multiple updates that will also add additional Verse custom devices for things like more dynamic AI movements and AI spawns depending on lobby size.
I already have a solid grasp of the Verse coding language because of my previous experience in other coding languages and the fact I made an entire tycoon device kit for another project.
The main reason most devices in this project are currently not custom-coded is because this allows for the most compatibility with future updates and functionality that might be more difficult to get linked up with custom devices. As linking capabilities for events on custom devices are limited.
